Humans of Duke Sanford

“I am from Liberia. I worked in finance there [for a project that ensures that the national budget is made available to promote transparency and accountability.] It was hard at first, when I came to Duke. I had to adapt to everything: the language, the environment and the weather! (Our weather is not as cold as the U.S. in the winter.) It was hard. After I present my master’s project I will have a dual certification in international tax policy and public finance management. I will return to Liberia and focus on monitoring and tracking the performance of Liberia’s vision 2030 developmental agenda. [That’s a vision geared toward alleviating extreme poverty and creating a middle income class in Liberia.]”
