Humans of Duke Sanford

“I love public policy, I love Sanford. I knew I wanted to be a public policy major when I came to Duke, and I wanted my senior year to be involved with shaping Sanford. There’s going to be a new center [on politics], and more diversity. I’ve been a little bit unhappy at how the campus is apolitical. There are a lot of things changing, and I decided to get involved. I’m happy with the changes that are happening and I want to keep what is started going. One of my broad goals is to diversify Sanford and it’s opportunities. I have a lot of friends who feel there isn’t enough support for them if they’re not going for the high-paying jobs. I think we can work on that.” - Christie Lawrence, 2015-2016 Public Policy Majors Union President-elect
