This past summer, I was part of the Duke in New York Arts & Media program …Spending the summer in NY was absolutely fantastic. I worked as a business development intern with Scratch Music Group, a venture-backed DJing company (founded by a Duke alum) that provides DJs for events and offers DJ lessons. I actually got the chance to take some lessons! I’m currently a sophomore studying Public Policy. My experiences in Public Policy 155 really helped me when I was trying to identify new clientele for Scratch. I used a lot of the research techniques I learned in that course and I found it really applicable to real-life settings. My biggest takeaway from my summer internship is that DJing is probably not a viable career option…for me, at least. – Jenn Hofmann ’18 #HumansofDukeSanford #Undergrad
